I use an innovative process combining hand carving and technology to create sea inspired wood sculpture & wearable art. Each piece is individually carved and hand finished. A variety of woods are used to complement the designs. Exotics are primarily recycled woods from furniture and instrument makers.
The unique colored wood is manufactured in Vermont and each separate veneer is dyed to my specification. The process of liberating each piece reveals the distinct personality of the individual sculpture. The process is the evolution of many years of making art, drawing on my Nordic seafaring and artisan heritage.
Each piece being made individually insures the uniqueness of every piece, no two are alike exactly. The categorized art such as the sculpture and amulets will be very close to what is shown but the one-offs are that, one-offs, and will be offered on the one-off page (coming soon) until sold and will be marked as such. I can reproduce the essence of the piece in a custom order but it will differ in some ways. The end result is, you will have some of the most unique art on the planet.
The spirit of that heritage has been my inspiration for these pieces and I am happy to be able to pass that along to you.
